The Importance of Hardware and Software

    This blog is designed to help readers understand the importance of hardware, software, and Internet technology that plays a role in today's society. When thinking about technology, it is important to consider the usage of budget, designing, place, testing, and planning. Technology has changed throughout the years from smartphones to laptops, and everything that utilizes technology in different ways. Hardware and software are needed to connect to the Internet. When using hardware technology, it is important to change the design, hardware, and software to the latest as that can help with security issues. As old technology is being less utilizes, it ends up leading to vulnerabilities for people to attack the operating systems. Hardware and software are best utilized to perform different tasks such as browning the Internet, using office products, and performing calculations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. The software can come in different forms such as applications, operating systems, and drivers.

    Technology changing over time has become beneficial as both hardware and software can allow performing more tasking and other useful abilities. New technologies can allow data to be transferred because the old hardware and software can lead to corruption, and other problems that can make either hardware or software no longer work. One of many hardware and software that are needed are routers, and switches to connect to the Internet. Having technology that utilizes hardware and software can help other devices connect to the Internet. There are currently two ways to connect to the Internet, and that can include connecting using WIFI or connecting to the Internet using Ethernet with an RJ-45 connector.

    Wireless technologies have made their way into society for easier connection to the Internet. It allows less clutter of cables to deal with when hardware and software can be combined to perform many tasks in a smaller component. Many wireless technologies being used in today's world that has advanced are wireless keyboards, wireless mice, and WIFI. With the usage of WIFI, there are also security issues and attacks on the network because companies don't configure the settings correctly which makes it easier for hackers to steal data. WIFI technology is a hardware and software component that has changed the technology industry since its release starting from 1G going to 5G networks. Currently, 5G is the network being used but only limited to a certain part of the world, and the 4G network. 

    Components of computers consist of RAM, SSD, and WIFI module cards. There are different storage spaces for SSD such as 32GB, 64GB, 256GB, 500GB, and 1TB of the storage drive. It would be best to determine if an SSD or HDD would work best. HDD is slower than SSD to boot to the operating system, but SSD becomes corrupt easily due to the aging of the partitions. 

    In conclusion, it is important to have both hardware and software. Companies are limited to using software due to hardware costs and continue to use the current hardware they have because of the condition of the hardware. It is possible that hardware has become corrupt or degraded over a period of time, but other hardware has been well maintained in a better environment. It is best to look at other software which can help to extend the usage for companies and reduce the time for looking for an alternative way.

Saud Gohar was born on February 23, 1993. Saud received his associate degree in Information Technology from Northern Virginia Community College in 2016 and is currently enrolled at American Public University since April 2016. His current degree program is Information Technology and E-Commerce. Saud Gohar will graduate in 2023.
